The "Stardust" original title was "Star Dust".

It was written at the Keuka Hotel on Keuka Lake, a Finger Lake in Western New York, on an old upright piano by Mitchell Parrish.

This song was first recorded in  by Hoagy Carmichael, with Emil Seidel and his Orchestra and the Dorsey brothers as "Hoagy Carmichael and His Pals," on October 31, 1927.

Since then it is a beloved favorite that has been covered by many of the greatest artists ever; from Barbara Striesand to Willie Nelson to John Coltrane to the Sinatra and endless others
